I am so incredibly glad that I stumbled into Charlene’s Barre class. Even though I’m a very active person and frequently participate in biking and yoga along with many other activities I find that Barre is the most satisfying. Charlene is brilliant (no pun intended!) and willing to figure out specific workouts to help with any target areas that might be a concern while also always making sure to build in a well rounded full body experience. I’m thrilled that now she has her own studio, because just seeing her once a week wasn’t nearly enough!

It has been amazing working with Charlene on my lifestyle decision. I have put off working out for over 20 years. Not because I don’t like it, or don’t see the value, but because I never gave myself time to see results. With Charlene’s encouragement and patience I jumped in. Her advice of starting slowly at 2 times per week and then adding more days the second month allowed me to commit, but not kill myself. I LOVE her Barre workouts! After almost 2 complete months I have already seen muscle improvements, and am definitely seeing improvements in my skin tone; my strength, posture and balance have also improved significantly. I look forward to coming, and on my off days I am now setting time aside to add in some cardio. I appreciate so much her friendship, and knowledge in helping me stay healthy! Thank you, Charlene!

For an overweight, somewhat lazy, and anti-pain Silver Sneaker participant, I actually look forward to my Golden Slippers sessions! I can be overheard weekly after class saying, ‘I really enjoyed that!’ I may be all of the above, but now I have better posture, balance, strength and “unusual” positions actually feel natural and relaxing now. Charlene is patient, forgiving encouraging, and really motivating. It’s wonderful and I highly recommend Brilliant Balance!

My results have been AMAZING! I am a 57-year-old mother of five who has spent many years ignoring my own health needs and the deterioration in my well-being was proof. Last August I began walking with Charlene Causey on my journey to health and wellness – and I am SO glad I did! Since taking Barre class with Charlene, I have been able to find my love for dance again and it is crucial to work on balance because my essential tremors are robbing me of basic balance skills. As an instructor, Charlene has the knowledge and quality of movement I experienced in my college days when my major was modern dance. She is quick to modify the lessons so persons of all ages, despite injuries, are able to always work at their level. Her interest in your students and their growth is genuine and she is able to keep a classroom pace so that the class can make the most of the hour you instruct. She always comes prepared and energized, passing this energy on to the class. It is obvious this has been a life-long love of hers in her instruction and the way she moves. That is why she has a core following because we do recognize we have found a fabulous instructor.

My fitness journey began with barre classes instructed by Charlene and the things she has taught me are invaluable. Her knowledge of general health, ballet, form and strength combined with the grace of her teaching helped me fall in love with fitness and gain confidence to love myself. She works with each individual to ensure that they are getting the absolute best out of the program. I’ve tried many other barre programs, but nothing compares to the depth of knowledge I gained from Brilliant Balance.
